MHBE will convene a workgroup in the Summer/Fall of 2024 to discuss improving consumer decision support during the plan shopping experience when using the Maryland Health Connection (MHC) “Get an Estimate” plan shopping tool or within the MHC application. The group will meet up to 8 times every two weeks through July and October and will ultimately provide a final report of recommendations to better assist consumers in choosing a health plan that best fit their health and financial conditions, through increased or more effective decision-making support. The scope of workgroup discussions and recommendations will focus specifically on health insurance plan shopping in the individual market.

We are seeking interested stakeholders from a variety of specialty areas, including but not limited to consumer advocates and representatives, consumer assistance workers, brokers, health care providers, and carrier representatives, to serve on the work group.

Applicants should indicate their interest in co-chairing the workgroup on the application. Interested stakeholders should submit a completed application along with a resume/CV to Amelia Marcus, Health Policy Analyst, at amelia.marcus@maryland.gov, by 5pm on June 17, 2024.
